We got BT Broadband, which doesn't offer an e-mail service. Possibly would have been easier to stick with Freeserve, though!

Quite, why doesn't he use his broadband account for mail services then? Would seem to be much simpler.

I use the Job Inbox www.directcareer.com as a personal mail box. This service really is great.

If you want a particular or professional domain (e.g. yourname@yourdomain.co.uk etc), you can get a domain and mailbox from places like www.123-reg.co.uk

Prices are about 5 quid for the domain for two years, and about 10 quid a year for a mailbox. The mailbox can be a catchall or you can buy multiple mailboxes for each individual email address if you require privacy etc.

If anyone has any suggestions about cheaper ways of getting a domain and mailbox(s) that give you full control, I'm all ears!

BTW You might get free email accounts with your Broadband ISP.

We've just got Broadband so we've knocked Freeserve on the head, but need to set up an e-mail account (other than Hotmail). Any recommendations?
