I’ve come to the same conclusion, especial considering the moving abroad bit. I’ve looked at the website of a computer shop I use in Miami, TigerDirect.com and comparing against eBuyer. Taking the HP 3600N as an example (because it was the first one I found on both sites): UK price 400 (exvat) quid, US price is 600 bucks. Colour toner UK 70 quid (x3) and US 130 bucks (x3).

25p per page for colour printing looks like a bargain to me. If you did it on your own printer it's going to cost you a large percentage of that for the ink. And then you've got the aggro of sourcing the printer, against the aggro of going down to the library to do it.

For the quantity you are talking about (100 pages equals 25 quid) I would stick with what you are doing now.

Neither have I, that is why I'm surprised by Sockpuppets objection to the HP 2600 (which I know nothing about).

Difficult to answer. Not being funny but it's more to do with the printer. Haven't thought too deep about what I want to spend. I only started thinking about it this morning.

Thing is, the exit plan is to move abroad. If it's a very good printer is available but a bit more expensive then I'd buy it and ship it when I move. I’ll still keep a studio/one bed place in London but I wont need any posh kit here.

    Decent Colour laser printers?

Anyone got some good ideas on a decent colour laser printer? My Lexmark inkjet is crap, but is OK for simple b/w stuff. I normally go down the library where there is a big HP printer. However, it’s 25p a sheet. I’ve got a report (part of my ‘escape from the B’Liar regime’ plan) coming to 20 or more pages filled with pictures and charts. I also need several copies. I’ve thought of going to a print shop, but I was just wondering if it might be worth my while getting my own printer.
