    Hmm...motherboard I'd say.

If its not the PSU then any other problems should make it boot and fail post.

Could it be a dodgy switch? Tried shorting the pins with a paperclip in place of the switch.

    PC hardware troubles

Okay, one of my PC's has died.

    Symptoms:

Hit power button, light briefly comes on (for a fraction of a second) and fan moves a fraction of an inch. LED on motherboard lights up. Nothing else happens.

Changed PSU for a new unit. Same symptoms. Hitting power button gives brief sub-second view that power is there then nothing.

Any ideas? Do you think the motherboard has died or maybe the CPU gone kapput?

Don't have a spare CPU or motherboard to try.
Working...
