I went with Joomla because Wordpress seemed much more blog-orientated at the time. Thanks, I'll create a test site with WordPress and see how it goes.

WordPress should be easier than Joomla, Drupal harder, but much more powerful, requires PHP knowledge but very much in demand nowadays so might be worth the effort of learning.

CMS alternatives to Joomla?
Is there any reason to move away from Joomla for a fairly basic website/CMS system?
I've not kept up to date on CMS techs as I found Joomla about 5 years ago and back then it did pretty much everything I wanted. I don't know php/js - I'm a BI developer rather than a website developer - so technically it ticks the boxes of doing nice stuff easily. I like the extensions/plug-ins system and generally can find the things that I want (even if there's the odd 5 dollars to pay for someone else's effort). Has there been anything released in the last couple of years that people think would be better?Tags: None
