I assume that you're behind a hardware firewall ? Please say yes.

I am indeed. But I think that my problem is that Microsoft is not supporting Windows ME any more. I can not access updates (even if I could some months ago). I can access everything using my XP laptop but with my old ME laptop things are different. Installing Windows ME again didn't help

    Thanks for your help

Could be virus or worse - if you can't access your bank then maybe someone put a keylogger on your PC and sucking your funds away... better check it your bank balance via phone!

    Windows Update

    Hi all,

After getting a new hard disk and reinstalling Windows, I can not access the Windows update website any more. My IE reads: "Web site found, waiting for reply", but after a while I get the message "Can not find server"

    The link is http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

I can access most other websites ok but not my First Direct banking and a couple of other websites. These websites are ok as I can access them from my wife's laptop, so I assume there is something strange with the setup of my Internet Explorer. Any ideas?

    Many thanks

    malandri
