Thanks Support Monkey, I haven't as I don't live near him. I think the problem with him (and many others) is that he enjoys a hands on job.
But in reality as the economy becomes a more service sector led, these jobs are disappearing

Also have you approached your local college, my son is an apprentice electrician and the college gave him a big list of companies to approach and one of them took him on so he does one day a week college and the rest of the week working to pay for his car insurance

Try SERCO they were looking to take somone on in the office i am in (oop north) and seem quite keen on the apprenticship route, and they have people placed allover especially councils, no idea who you need to contact though

He is close to completing his A levels, so ideally it would be some sort of A level entry scheme if possible.
