On cable here:

Download - 22806 kbit/s equivalent to 2750 Kbytes
Upload -- 2610 kbit/s, equivalent to 326 kBytes/s

Incidentally those telephone connection boxes on the street come to over 1300 quid if you write one off by smashing into it with a car (not me, but a former mate of mine).
