haha, yeah a lot of them are full of schmoozy 'matey' chat the whole time.
when refusing to budge on my absolute minimum today the guy KEPT going 'well what about if they turned round and offered x pounds a day...', to which i was like 'no really, that is my absolute minimum'... then twice more i got 'ok, well what about if they offered xx'.
i told him that i wasn't going to budge and that there was no point surmising what they might say until he speaks to them (knowing full well that he already knows their max and is just playing with margins)... grrrrr!
then i got the classic 'well, obviously it's in my interest to get as much as i can for you cos if you get more i get more'...
b.0.L.L0.x methinks!

Another favourite;
"When I am next at the client we will have to meet up for a coffee".
Agent has been in the building 50 times this year already and hasn't even said hello yet...

I get fed up of "how are you today?" but you have to say ynooew really nasally.

haha... i've had this a few times:
'have you got anything else going on at the moment that i should know about'.
it's like, errr, well that depends on who's side you look at the 'should' from...

"Oh, so you'd work anywhere in the South-East? How about Newport then?"
And the best one:
Agent: "Client rate card says £300, so that's as high as they will go"
Me: "So your margin is zero?"

Me: "May I speak to X please?"
Them: "What is it regarding?"
Me: "X was to call me back about Y."
Them: "Hang on... Sorry, everyone's in a meeting." <--- the cliche
Me: "Could you ask X to call me?"
Them "OK, will do."
Me: "Don't you need to know who I am to do that?"

How could I forget this one: "x's on the other line, I'll let them know you called"
