Now if I recall correctly, when you hire a car on the small print it specifically restricts driving to 'real' roads, so you can't really go down any beaten tracks let alone off them!

not that I'm that bothered really as we can't afford a holiday this year

When you said you'd taken it literally for these bits

and this bit

I had something completely different in mind.

Taking marketing words literally

If only they knew what they were really saying....

Here's BA trying to tempt me to go off the beaten track with Avis - exec club members will have had their newsletter today:

You’ll get an extra thank-you from our car rental partner Avis, too. Until the end of February, you can earn 2,009 BA Miles for all rentals of 5 days and more. So travelling off the beaten track is more rewarding than ever.

Now if I recall correctly, when you hire a car on the small print it specifically restricts driving to 'real' roads, so you can't really go down any beaten tracks let alone off them!

not that I'm that bothered really as we can't afford a holiday this year
