I thought that rule was repealed in the 1986 final if and only if the opening gambit crossed Uxbridge from a southerly direction?

Met line gets loads of delays as when it hits the city it shares part of the Circle, district lines so they get tube traffic jams. You can get a train from Marlybone to Harrow On The Hill takes about 20mins (if you can get on it) and then go from Harrow On The Hill to Uxbridge.

There used to be a bunch of Moroccan "taxi" drivers down SoHo that would take you back (after midnight) to Uxbridge in 30 mins for £20.

I started using that instead of "running the gauntlet" on the tube - never used to make it past Harrow-o-t-Hill without pissing my pants and had to get a taxi from there.

Mind you that was about 10 years ago when I didn't have a prostate the size of a bowling ball...
