    Re: law

Years ago I was knocking about with a girl who used to work at the local police HQ you get into the most interesting discussions in the rest area over a game of pool.

The kerb crawling is the only time they can prove a crime is being committed , that is when it is agreed the money will change hands. Its not illegal to sell your body or buy another persons body for sex, it is illegal to do so in public.

The reason kerb crawling is illegal is the amount of nuisance it causes people living in the area who have nothing to do with prostitution.

    Re: Yeah funny that

Nope you have to accost a person (since 2003) for the purposes of prostitution. Just driving round Kings cross too afraid to ask is not sufficient which is why a number of our regulars haven't been banned from driving:lol .

Kerb-crawling -- accosting women in the street from a motor vehicle for the purposes of prostitution -- is banned by the Sexual Offences Act of 1985. Under legislation introduced this year, offenders can lose their driving licences for good.

if you get caught soliciting, you need a good solicitor to get off, erm, that's right, isn't it?

is that so Vetran? I got impression that this was like legal term, ie literally if you drive slowly along the kerb in a known prosti place then its sufficient to be done for

kerb crawling is a slang name, AIUI people have to offer money for sex normally to a disguised female officer.

I could not believe people can get done for "kerb crawling", I mean wtf, what kind of offence is that? Nothing really happened, perhaps the guy was obstructing traffic or just slowing it down but thats it - not that I do kerb crawling, but this injustice makes me angry >:

    Re: Prostitution

The bit that's illegal is soliciting.

Good job the rabbit only uses his law degree for tax advising.

    Re: Prostitution

Prostitution is already legal. There are a load of related offences but protitution itself is OK.

Granted it is bloody difficult - but not impossible - to be a protitute and remain within the law.

being an MP is a full time occupation -even in the evening.
Yes one has to research new laws and policies such as legalising prostitution (one needs to see the level of deprivation first hand), cracking down on illegal working (where else is an MP to hire a nanny at 30p an hour except from the Balkans?), tax avoidance - must make sure only MP's can hire their wives to do secretarial work at £30K a year.
