How come the referee didn't disallow the Greek goal? I thought that was supposed to happen in games against Portugal?

It was a very levelled tournament. All the teams had a small bunch of good players and lots of mediocre ones. All the teams could have potentially won. The team that was managed best won. This was a clear example of how management could be crucial in business (and I am normally not much of a managers supporter). A team with average players produced a fantastic result thanks to a fantastic organisation and strategy. It also shows that the best talents, when managed improperly, do not contribute greatly to the big picture.

Crikey KC, what an attitude! Of course the team goes into the tournament believing they can win it. That's all the fun and challenge of competing. It's the easiest thing in the world to wait until they get knocked out and then say "they never had a chance", but I don't think it's inconceivable that England could have won the thing if they'd played up and had better luck. You'd make a terrible sports coach, KC.

There always seems to be one of two expectations about an England team before a match: either England should beat the other team hollow and they're a disgrace if they don't; or that England haven't got a chance and might as well stay at home.

Anyone displaying an Engerlund flag either on their house or car should paint the red cross white, thus making it a flag of surrender. 14 players, 1 average goalkeeper, 3 decent/1 exceptional defenders, 5 pathetic midfielders, 1 pathetic and ineffective captain, 2 useless strikers (without even mentioning Heskey) and 1 broken foot…

I can't believe that the FA, management, players, media and fans actually believed they could win this tournament. At least the referee and groundsmen did you all a favour by providing you with 2 excuses why you didn't win the game.... but never forget, if it was a fight it would have been stopped in the 5th round... The team that went through was the team that deserved to.

Anyway can't stay here gloating all day...
