Looks grim for the Toon; all the possibles are turning them down. Why not go for someone who's learnt his craft in the lower divisions, and keep faith with him for a couple of seasons. No, it'll have to be a Big Name to satisfy the demands of a Big Club. The danger is they may end up doing a Leeds (overspending, to try and keep up with the Premier big guns)
Still, 2nd place two seasons running (and only his second and third in the Premiership) isn't bad going - I for one, wouldn't swap those days for the world, great times!
Shearer's currently in Barbados sunning himself, still 6 months to go until finishing coaching badges and Beeb contract runs out after the Euro Championships. Personally think he'd be daft to take it....impossible job and the quickest way to loose his legend status at St James!
My worst nightmare is 'arry getting the toon job, but who else is daft enough to take it!! Should have been given till the end of next season.
Nice to Shearer not wanting to manage the club he supports. No it's far easier to say how he would do things from his highly paid pundit position rather than actually go and do it.
Maybe he knows he is not management material. Now if only some of the muppets here knew that...

It's, yet another, embarrassing time to be a Toon fan. The football this season has been dire. Never sure if this is down to the players or the manager though.
I wasn't planning on going to the Stoke relpay next Wednesday until I heard last night's news. Got my seat booked now though
