A long time ago in a town far away, a mate of mine ended up in hospital. She was riding a motorbike and came off, slid down the road on her front for a fair distance - and ended up having to have her nipples stitched back on, they were hanging on by a mm of skin.

Nipple chaffing used to be a problem for distance runners. I ran competitively for several years but never experienced it myself. The secret must be to finish the race before your nipples have time to chaff.
