In the form of an excel spreadsheet. Ive been offline and more concerned of trying to find somewhere to live than pandering to the whims of HMRC... my 'bad thoughts' have gone but I think thats purely because I switched off from all things HMRC.... now Ive finally got the kick in the ribs with this...emailed from one person, signed by another.
Im considering getting in touch with one of the tax advisors here to sort this out for me as Im now PAYE and well under the 50K mark...
The pack I got just seem sto be a spreadsheet asking for numbers (cash taken) and scheme names (despite an email from SPM that it wasnt a 'scheme')
Unlike many others in this mess... my total loans amounted to no more than around 30K. 6 months of that year was PAYE and 6 months SPM... Im 'guessing' I add the two amounts together see what the overall tax burden should have been and subtract tax already paid in that year... Im still not entirely sure about expenses for that period.. as Ive seen nobody manage to negotiate this from their taxable income... ... I honestly dont know how others are coping...
Dear xxxx
Thank you for contacting HMRC to discuss settling your involvement in Contractor Loans avoidance.
Please find attached the Contractor Loans Settlement Pack for you to complete.
To ensure settlement is finalised before 5 April 2019, return the pack by 30 September 2018.
If the pack is received after this date, HMRC cannot guarantee to finalise your settlement before 5 April 2019 and therefore you may be subject to the April 2019 loan charge.
Please return your completed pack to cl.resolution@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
Yours sincerely,
