Finding an Extra COP8 anywhere??

Same here. I phoned the help line a while back to ask which years I was being investigated for and they mentioned a year is received nothing for.

I asked for a copy of the COP8 and one automagically appeared after a few weeks. I know I never received the original - you're not going to ignore a letter like that!

Going to be hard to prove otherwise though :-(

My tax advisor sent off asking for all the relevant information
I knew i had COP8 for 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 and kept all my documentation and letters and enquiries about this and got nothing back.
Now they provide a settlement figure and enclose a COP8 2006/2007 for me as well - why - I had never received this before, why enclose a copy of something...how did they know i didnt have that?
Has anyone else received an extra COP8 in their settlement figures and calculations?

I am in the same position. I knew I had 2007/8 and 2008/9. Now I have been told 2006/7.

I have not been given a copy though.

I have questioned it but no reply yet ..after a few months.

Would HMRC go so far as to fabricate letters they never actually sent?

I wish I could say categorically no but nothing would surprise me anymore.

Why not send me a copy of all COP8? Why just the one I had never received?

I am in a similar situation, I received enquiries from Hector for 2006/7 and 2008/9, 2009/10 which at the respective times I responded to. During my recent discussions with them it seems that there was also one for 2007/8 issued that I never received. I asked them to confirm that this was correct and they sent me out a copy of what was meant to have been sent out at the time . They also confirmed that they had had no confirmation that I had received the enquiry.

Not really sure what to do about it as it is their word against mine, I have asked on the fora before but did not receive any real answers, my current advisor is looking into it as I am not sure how I am meant to deal with things from Hector if they do not tell me.
