Never very impressed with her cooking, but she certainly had some quality stories of drinking!
I agreed with much of her Countryside campaigning - but she was always going to be facing an uphill struggle to be taken seriously on that with some people having squandered -
A Promising career as a Barrister
A £2.8 Million inheritance
and been declared bankrupt numerous times.
She was certainly a character and a one-off though.

I found her story of coming out of a massive booze blackout at the Falklands war victory parade and not knowing there had been a war pretty fookin' impressive. I think she lost weeks or months.

Oh no!
I loved them both and I loved their no-nonsense traditional recipes.
Clarissa was a great countrywoman and I met her a couple of times at the West Doset Show in Melplash.
She showed me how to dress a rabbit.
Honest, warm and friendly - unlike some of the vacuous individuals masquerading as foodies on the box these days.
