Didn't it ever occur to the blundering idiot (and to you for that matter) that this so-called paedophile ring might have been a crafty honey trap organised by MI6 or someone to compromise terrorists and foreign diplomats?

All he had to do, and all he should have done, was have a quiet word with the chief constable, hand over any evidence he had, and leave the professionals to pursue it.

I think the Home Secretary is the chief constable's boss but it seems no real action was taken. He wanted PIE banned then but they didn't then and they still haven't, it just disbanded although some sources do say it has now been outlawed although I can't find an official one.
