That Macan thing looks like one of those useless "cross-overs" that has sadly proliferated on our roads in recent times. Useless because they can't do off-road and because they usually have boots too small for people with kids.
My test of a family car: can you put in a folded pushchair and 3 suitcases without folding the back seats down.
None of these crossovers usually passes the test, the Accord we had just about did it, but now we have a BMW estate, it's perfect.
The ideal urban car for a family is a small estate since even a small estate has a bigger boot than these fooking useless crossover pieces of crap. And they drive much better too.

I can talk about the tech merits of some piece of kit she wants to buy but at the end of the day is it shiny and sparkly? If she was twelve it would have to be pink and then it's a done deal

Cayenne is a serious depreciation habit to take on; probably more expensive than a drug habit. Avoid unless buying 3-4 yr plus and then know you are jumping in a deep pool.
Wise money is in RR and Disco4 as supply is short compared to it's peers and RR/LR are winning the quality perceptions in consumers atm.
They are all £30-80k cars to own and maintain regardless of how little it costs to get 'in'.Last edited by Damon; 18 November 2013, 19:53.
