I was hoping the 2 bedroom flat with kitchen and living room on the second floor might appeal to them, leaving the rest for me. Either that or they could live in the coach house. I'm not sure they'll go for it though, which is a shame as it's the cash from the sale of their house that makes it affordable.

Anyway, it's a big house with lots of balconies and things - an accident (or two) could easily happen in such a place.

Yes its a good house that can effectively house couple of families, but a lot will depend on how well you get on, the last thing you want is to see people you don't like in your big house, this would spoil everything. Well, unless they join the gimps in the cellar.

Funnily enough I am thinking of buying it. It's on my potential list, admittedly at the top end, but I have to think very carefully about whether I can stand living with my in-laws. Granted we could have a wing each and rarely see each other but it might just be a risk too far.
