Can't they just rotate the blades and the windmill direction so the blades are sideways on to the wind?
Or does their aerofoil shape mean there is no neutral position?

Messy.
So, having removed the braking function to prevent overheating, what exactly prevents the turbine from overspeeding & shedding blades?
I think the cabin is supposed to rotate sideways on, but the one in the vid was scuppered when the power failed coz the power lines blew down in the wind.Last edited by zeitghost; 26 May 2017, 17:01.Tags: None
