Why? I almost never drink now - I actually get up at 9am nowadays to work on SKA, no time for drinking, anyway if you can't take a joke then its your problem...Originally posted by ChurchillI should leave the beer alone if I were you. It's starting to control your life.
Indeed, just like CNN.com can't be pinged yet its alive website, or more specifically back then amazon.co.uk could not and can't be pinged, yet its alive. This is perfectly inline with what I said here yesterday.Originally posted by snawThat's funny - I recall not so long ago you claiming to ping certain websites as proof which actually couldn't be pinged ...

Yep, cute little buggers when viewed from afar but let the little buggers in past your door and you're in a world of pain.Originally posted by zeitghostsmurf?
Isn't that some sort of blue puppety thing on the telly?
And some irritating old git singing about them?

Not bizarre at all. Plenty of good security reasons to block ping, from hiding your network from ping sweeps to preventing attacks, ever heard of a SMURF?Originally posted by AtWWorks fine here. The point I was making is that pings nowadays are often dropped for some bizarre security reasons, so lack of ping is not a guaranteeed indicator of a web site being down. If the truth abuses you then you really got a problem....

I have just accessed the site without problems, and was able to access yesterday also. I was also paid yesterday, therefore no problems from here.
What was in the email of 10/07 as I never received this?
Are you with Giant Powerhouse?

AtW, a few of us have tried to access the website without success. I fully understand that lack of ping doesn't necessarily mean the site is down. It is you that is being abusive. I should leave the beer alone if I were you. It's starting to control your life.Originally posted by AtWWorks fine here.
