    Basic Flying Rules.
    • Try to stay in the middle of the air.
    • Do not go near the edges of it.
    • The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there.

    What hair?

Just excited at the prospect of a decent machine I can fly legally since I had to give up my license. Plenty of ultralights around but this looks like the dog's danglies and flying from water means no landing fees, messing around in control zones flying from grass or concrete which is what I'm surrounded by, I can just turn up at a slip like it was a boat climb in and go.

It's hard to describe the pleasure and excitement I get from flying, started at fifteen and was flying long before I got a driver's license. Not being able to fly because some nugget at CAA deems my eyesight doesn't meet the requirements pisses me off greatly so one way or another I'll get flying again.

when my lad was getting on for 17, it was getting harder and harder for me to find things that we could do together.
inevitable part of having lads growing up I think.

anyways, I had this fckng brainwave. I bought him a petrol RC plane.

so we built it together, man and boy. and then we took it into the garage to set up the engine.

I weighted the tail down so it was fixed and we started the engine.

The bastid shot towards me at warp factor six and my back was to the wall. no escape.

I still have the scars, it nearly took three of me fingers off, and the lad got splattered with dad-blood.

anyways, when the bleeding stopped, we took it down to the airfield at Burtonwood.

It flew like a dream. The trim was perfect.

Father and son stood together in a filial bond made in heaven.

then the fcker did an unplanned loop the loop , chased me down the runway then smashed into a million bits.

    I will never fly again

WTF is 'plank' flight? Not rotary I assume. Not a fan of helicopters to be honest but I have had enough stick time on rotary to qualify that.

But what would I know about 'plank' flight.

They haven't gone into production yet but it works.

What's the big deal? It has wings, body, engine and a seat why wouldn't it work? Let's have yer aeronautical engineering expert opinion.

I'd rather be at the controls of something like this than seated in some budget airline jet. What's the fear of flying thing about? Just cos it's a wee thing doesn't mean it's dangerous and likely safer.

I'd have much less chance of an accident in something like this than a work commute in the car, y'all trust yer driving and confident enough to hit Britain's roads but wouldn't you like to have a crack at flying?

he can't see the mounting for a dorsal R2 unit, so he is sceptical.

he is not the droid you are looking for
