Cops don't appear to be employed for their intelligence.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostEr... As little of a Maggie fan as I am - it seems clear to me that this bloke (the copper) is a fool, and if he's so daft what in the name of flip is he doing being a plod anyway.
That said, I am also totally astounded - he must be the only copper in the universe that didn't worship Maggie for the massive pay rises, increase in powers and reduced scrutiny. He must be a youngster.
It would be amusing to see if Dodgy can post anything in the next few weeks in which the word hypocrite or its derivatives doesn't appear.

Nonsense.Originally posted by d000hg View PostBut you're not saying it to your friends. If you tell your mate "my boss is a dick" they laugh. If you put an advert in the newspaper "my boss is a dick" you get fired. If you claim someone stole your work to your mummy, nothing happens. If you do so publicly, you get taken to court.
If you have a wank at home, it's fine. If you do it in public, you get in trouble.
What is so hard to understand that saying/doing something publicly where it can affect other people - typically the person you're talking about though not in this case of course - is different than saying it in private?
Mrs EO's mate came around and her terrier humped my leg. so I got me saus out and wanked all over the little bastids head.
and will they ever let me live it down ?
no.
women eh ?

No, but he may be sympathetic to misbehaving protesters.Originally posted by proggy View PostWhat do you think he was going to do smash her coffin with his batten? Talk about grasping at straws
. He resigned for one simple reason, the police didn't want the bad PR and they pushed him. All you little Thatcherites coming up with more and more non-sequtirs has made my night.
The hypothetical policeman who tweeted about Saint Maggie may equally be harder on protesters.

Why pretend? It's publicly available information.Originally posted by proggy View PostAlso I don't pretend to know what is written in his contract (unlike you)

The Police (Conduct) Regulations 2012

What do you think he was going to do smash her coffin with his batten? Talk about grasping at strawsOriginally posted by doodab View PostFirstly, he hasn't been sacked, although he may well have been eventually. He's resigned before being suspended.
Secondly, a police officer takes an oath to the crown, and in doing so accepts certain restraints on his/her private life including abstaining from any activity which is likely to interfere with the impartial discharge of duty, or to give the impression to the public that it may interfere, and from taking any active role in party politics.
Clearly this chap has created the impression that he's unlikely to behave impartially if called upon to police the funeral next week, or to attend some other related event. So he's violated his oath.
It's quite right that he's no longer a policeman IMO, he's displayed rather poor judgement among other things.

No he should be sacked, same as before, the terms for policemen is not to declare any political opinion publicly... whether its for or anti statement.Originally posted by proggy View PostSo if he said he hoped Thatched died a peaceful death, should he also have resigned?
