When we went round the coast, they were filming a Ferrari ad.

    The end result:

Even without Pompeii it's a beautiful place - well worth a visit. Lovely clear seas, beautiful scenery.

If you want to see Pompei you are best to stay on Capri - and go to the archaeological sites through Sorrento.

Hotel was fine with high security parking. No bother about water. Met some really nice Americans on vacation

Sorrento/Amalfi coast is beautiful and perfect for Pompeii - the local railway goes from Sorrento straight there and only costs a few Euros.

Recommend Mary Beard's Pompeii book - interesting and easy to read.

I wouldn't mind seeing that as well (thats one with a parental advisory isn't it?) but I do want to hit the Bowie exhibition at the V&A. Frau D. expressed a short trip to the UK so hopefully I can get to see it before it finishes
