I know of a few .gov.uk sites that don't accept four letter TLDs

    Passport renewal website

Online application to renew passport has email field (only once, so don't make a typo). Max 30 characters. If, like my partner, your email is at BT, your email address is <firstname>.<lastname>@btinternet.com. That allows only 14 character for first name + last name. My partner's email address is longer than 30. And the field is mandatory.

Useless to protest that I wouldn't have done it that way; the name of IT guys is mud in our house.
