Come to think of it, I'm blessed with luck actually. Not only did I skyve off on that day, but I narrowly missed being blown up by an 747 crashing.
The cargo 747 that left stanstead in 96/97 and crashed in the woods flew over my house just before it ditched about 3/4 mile away. Was woken up by a 500ft high fireball. We moved about a month later!

Five minutes and you re almost there
Five minutes and you re almost dead
I need a dream where I can live what I said
I need a place where I can put my head
I need a hoIe where I'll find darkness now
And if you hassle me mister I might just lose
my head
Five minutes and you re almost there
Five minutes and you re almost dead
They came on a Saturday night
They killed the cat and they raped his wife
And in their eyes there was fear and hate
And when they spoke they spoke with knives
Five minutes and you re almost there
Five minus s and you're almost dead
Some say that l should hate them all
But I say that wouldn't help at all
I just wanna find those guys that s all ............
That's all ...........
Five minutes and you're almost there
Five minutes and you're almost dead
The night time comes and the streets they
ring
With the fears of a thousand things
But if you worry about your ports of call
You ll never get nothing done at all
Long time ago but: I was supposed to be shopping in Harrods when it went up.
If you were in Harrods you'd have been pretty safe. Mother in law was just on her way there, she tells me it wasn't a lot of fun.
One that did make me laugh was an Australian. Allegedly he was caught up on the aircraft that went off the runway at Bangkok (?). Stayed a couple of days, arrives at LHR, gets to Paddington and promptly gets on the train that was hit by the GWR express. Probably an urban myth, but I think he should be labelled so the rest of the world can keep out of his way.
