There is passage in that Sting song, 3:20 in on the video that is drumming perfection. Sublime.
Sting always had the best drummers, Manu Katche, Stewart Copeland, Vinnie Colaiuta.
Manu Katche did Dire Straits 'Money for Nothing', gated reverb heaven.

Good that. I bought a guitar about 13 years back and had a couple of lessons from a customer services guy(who was in a band) who sent an email out offering lessons. I took a free lesson, having never played before, started to get the hang of it, then headed off with him and bought an electric guitar. I had two more lessons before the contract finished, I met the missus and I moved on. Never played it again. It's in the roof now, bagged and in mint condition.Originally posted by stek View Post
I reckon most muso's only play so they can get laid.

You only need to punch the information into a drum machine once......

The last thing I need to tackle musically is drums and unlikely to ever happen.Originally posted by minestrone View PostI was a trained snare dummer and when I got on the kit everything was about hitting everthing as fast as you could, I have a bit of dowling rod with a 3kg weight on a bit of rope, used to wind up up then drop and repeat.
Then I heard Superstition by Stevie Wonder and realised I had got it all wrong.

Every time I see the stones playing I always look to see Charlie Watts playing the drums, guy is an absolute fraud.
