That 5/8 for Italy was great, Orquera.
Best match so far, because it was close throughout.

Yep, good game, very tough battle; France didn't seem to have any ideas and panicked while Italy have gained a few top class backs to add to what was always a very good pack. Parisse was immense, McLean was creative, even sublime at times, Castrogiovanni and Lo Cicero were on top form again. Italy could cause problems for everyone this year; maybe to early to call them championship contenders but on that form I think they'll win a couple of games, especially if they sort out the discipline in the last 10 minutes.Originally posted by Troll View PostMissed that one

Well, the Scots did well to keep the gap down to 20 points.

Was Bennett better than The King? I only caught the tail end of the latter's career.

Yes, forwards are expected to learn moves these days. That was never a strong point of mine.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostI'm not sure what's good or bad about this. The article only really mentions a list of calls and plays to learn in their own time, which can be easily updated with alerts if Scotch spies find any out.
The impression I got from MJ's time was that England fell into the trap of meta-coaching (the babble you talk about), emphasising the processes instead of the practicalities, but this doesn't seem to be like that.

If you get bored try thisOriginally posted by BoredBloke View PostI've got to take my son to see England v France. Another wasted afternoon surrounded by a bunch off pissed up toffs while a group of men try to snatch a ball off each other, run for a bit and then have yet another group cuddle!
Can't wait!
