I believe OG booked her for a year of exclusive service. Gawd knows what they're up to. I hope she's not broken him.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostThen you look damn good in drag!

Very true. I also teach people to fight (probably in similar styles to you). Dancers have already developed quite a bit of balance and coordination, and are more aware of their body's geometry than your average Jo.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostIncidentally, I found when training people that dancers become very good fighters.

Ah ... ballet dancers - I have an anecdote about that which is only 3rd hand (A friend's friend own the bar this happened in):
Friend's friend either owns or maybe just runs a bar near where a ballet show was happening. It was the closing night and afterwards the dancers come into the bar to relieve their stress. The bouncers mention that they are a little concerned now that they have seen the male ballet dancers up close and realise that they are pretty powerful as well as having numbers. Apparently the guys just drank themselves stupid and did little else other than crash out.
The girls however were drinking pints of stella. 2 of them argued and started fighting. The bouncer who stopped laughing first went over and pulled the two 6 stone girls apart. He took one by the shoulders and told her to cool down - she kicked him in the head and knocked him out. Suddenly the other bouncers (several had come over to watch) were attacked by a bunch of pissed up ballet girls, they ended up with a couple of bashed up faces and one broken jaw before they regained control of the place.
I have no idea how much of that story is honestly facture but it made me decided to stay the hell away from drunk ballet girls.
Incidentally, I found when training people that dancers become very good fighters.

Like some of you have a choice?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostThey're doing it deliberately to force men to buy them handbags, flowers and chocolates because we think they can't afford to buy them for themselves. Scheming and devious and unfortunately the only alternatives are to use your right hand or turn gay, so they'll get away with it for as long as the human race survives.

Well that's good enough. My older stepdaughter doesn't have any particular interest in any particular sport. But she's athletic, competitive, and likes to win. So we take her to a super competitive gymnastics club. She loves it, but somehow I'm pretty sure that's just because she's good at it, not because she actually cares about gymnastics.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostAgreed; best to encourage kids to do what they naturally want to do and do it as well as they can. Although apparently Vicky Pendleton never actually liked cycling, she just enjoyed being bloody good at it.
The younger one on the other hand is completely uncompetitive, just likes to learn stuff. We're letting her try out dance for a bit, but TBH I see her going more down the musical instrument route (that's what I did anyway) rather than doing any serious sport.
