The job is superb it is without a doubt the best job I've had by a long stretch and I can't see anything beating it, the rate is brilliant by my reckoning. Plus just having the clients name on my C.V. should get me more gigs once this one ends.

Is a 1 hour 45 minute Interview a good or a bad thing?

Id have said it was a bad thing. Perhaps a company that wastes a lot of time and cant make a decision. Though equally it might show a very relaxed working environment, would depend on what the meeting was like.

Ive had ones where the meeting was 90% the owner telling me about the problems he had before and only 10% of me sympathising with him and me giving examples of similar problems Id solved.

I have had one interview (split into two - meet the manager and then meet the technies) that last about that long overall.

My current position had a 20 minuter. I think that some companies use a similar approach to contractors that they do to permies, which gives rise to a very long interview.

I never had longer than 30-40 min for successful contract offer - who has time and need for more?

But I guess this could happen. Or it could be intelligence gathering. Or just a cheap way to pump up graduates. At mine there are armies of new grads with managerial bent and all they seem to be doing is attend various meetings and interviews.
