The cash is very well laundered now - why do you think there are IPOs and trade sales to Western companies happening in Russia? That's to achieve perfect cleaness of money, say if IR asks (and it wont, but you never know and Russians are paranoid about these things - they certainly expect the worst case scenario to be the most likely) where the money came from, then they would just say - BP or Shell bought my company or we had IPO on stock exchange and that's the end of the matter.
The fun was some years ago when Russians used to pay for those overpriced London rip-offs with cash, that sure suprised some people here!
