PACS - Picture Archiving and Communications System - is the digital x-ray system she's on about. It's one part of the NPfIT and it's going quite well. Minister on the BBC News this morning was defending the new NHS database expenditure. She said “ the public are benefiting from the new system already by have digital x-ray equipment. What the hell has digital x-ray equipment to do with the NHS database? The IT illiterate reporter was none the wiser.
