53 Lifers Released
Okey dokey then - for those of you who have said it could happen but doesn't - 53 lifers released who were sentenced to life in or after 2000. They have served 6 years or less.

Which means the pinky liberal parole board ****ed up and he wasn't supervised correctly by his incompetant parole officer. Also bear in mind he wasn't on a Life sentance so he may have made some minor infractions which the parole officer ignored, whereas had he been on a life sentance he would have been slammed back inside straight away.
I'm not saying I agree with him being released early, only that once you are given life it is very easy to throw you back into the slammer once you get out (if ever).
And just for the record i have a child and if anybody did something like that to him the local pig farm would be getting an extra feed delivery.....

You're missing the point. He was inside for child-abuse offences, was released early*, and then sexually assaulted another child.
I presume you don't have any children....
(* in the interests of fairness)

Life means life,
If you are on a life sentance they can put you back inside if you don't pay a speeding ticket. So it is possible (but extremely unlikely) that he will get out in 2 years, give it 2 months and he'll be back inside for a minor violation of his parole and stuck there for another 10. I would say don't worry bout it.

Let's remember the woolies got rid of the death sentence
on the promise that 'life' would be life.

Yeah lifers not let out on licence then?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5077986.stm
A total of 53 people sentenced to life have been released on licence from jail in the past six years, ministers said.
Shadow home secretary David Davis said it was "absolutely disgraceful" that the lifers, including rapists and murderers, had been released.
The news comes amid a row over sentencing after paedophile Craig Sweeney was given a life sentence which could see him serve just five years.
You really do talk total tulipe dog breath.

Listen mutley.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/5069656.stm
The family of a child kidnapped by a convicted paedophile on early release has said his sentence is "an insult".
Craig Sweeney, 24, kidnapped a girl, aged three, from her home in Cardiff in January 2006 before attacking her.
He was jailed for life and told he should not be considered for parole for at least five years.
There you have it. Convicted and released in five minutes, only to strike again.
Life should equal life. The only way out is in a coffin.
To cut costs, house the prisons offshore in places like south america (or anywhere with dubious human rights records).

You'd get more than that for not paying your VAT on time............
Not true DP, lets keep a sense of proportion.
VAT late payment penalties are now set a minimum of a week inside an Iron Coffin , two offences gets you an Iron Coffin with spikes on the inside.
Its only fair.

Savage knifing man gets life term
A man who stabbed a woman nearly 30 times has been sentenced to life in prison by a court.
Mark Antony Oldfield, 32, from Devizes, Wiltshire, knifed ex-girlfriend Hayley Cooper 28 times, near Salisbury, on 14 September last year.
Salisbury Crown Court heard how Miss Cooper, 23, had to undergo life-saving surgery after the attack.
The sentence passed means Oldfield is subject to lifetime parole but he could be out of jail in as little as two years, the court heard.
Eh? WTF?
Life imprisonment = 2 years????
You'd get more than that for not paying your VAT on time............
Good grief.
FFS, think for yourself instead of leaping at headlines - you're supposed to be a computer contractor, you're supposed to be able to think for yourself.
Now, where were we?
