We've had a pretty good run on the Stock Market for the last 3 years...seen my portfolio double in value... which was nice
Difficult to say if current market is top or just a pause

Get on the ladder while you still can.
House price graph
Prices will go up over time just as everything else does. Its called inflation, but as the graph shows that certainly isn't just inflation - neither can it be sustained. Just a matter of when...what do you think??

Expat,
whatever you do, restrain yourself from making rushed decisions.
Take your time, try not to worry about the future be it financial, social or whatever.
Think about taking the opportunity to work in places you might have been restricted from working in for social reasons.
Try to step back from everything.
Just some thoughts,
Milan.

PS forgive me for pointing out that assets are "worth" what they're valued at. I don't think that's particularly communist.

Why don't you continue on the mainland and put some $$
in the bank ? Or is it a case you just want to go back to the
UK ?
Don't worry you don't have to answer this, or discuss your personal
affairs here.
I would suggest, try to delay decisions and not make rush decisions.
Make a five year plan to accumulate some $$$.
Well all the best with everything.
Milan.
I think the advice is sound. I will rent for a while and accumulate.
