[QUOTE=TestMangler;1579330]That's because, generally, you developers are f***ing hopeless and require your hands held every step of the f***ing way.

So who hired all those f... hopeless developers ?

I wouldn't say bosses, but certainly they all have an opinion. I haven't been forced a certain way with anything from a tech point of view.Originally posted by darrenb View PostAnd they are all (with the possible exception of the BA) your bosses, and have the authority to tell you how to do things, and exactly how long it should take you to do them.

And without you they would basically be managing thin air and producing thin air.

LOL, as a tester that makes me suddenly remember whining about how crap the code is, and how the dev don't understand requirements properly - is actually a good thing. Or I'd be out of a job.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View Post no more than half decent though; must keep testers in work! no more than half decent though; must keep testers in work!

Management are all permi - Not a bad salary IMO. Lost count the number of times I've heard: "Can't answer that question I'm afraid, as its technical"Originally posted by bless 'em all View Post70k? I wouldn't get out of bed for that!

 How strange - a technical question in a technology company!Last edited by insur; 20 July 2012, 10:14.

Ouch - now that's some serious developer dislike.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostThat's because, generally, you developers are f***ing hopeless and require your hands held every step of the f***ing way.

It's pretty time consuming for us managers to have to listen to developers cry/whine/blubber about your jobs being outsourced, how you can't get a woman to sleep with you (despite your perceived high income) and how the other contractor that came in before you "Isn't very good".

Write some f***ing code, make sure it's half decent and hand it over to your manager to allow it to move out of fantasy land and into the rest of the end to end process (when it will doubtless come back to you to be re-written, cause it's crap).

if you need any further assistance, please feel free to ask a manager
