What with one thing and another, I have only a two-week window to go on holiday this summer, in fact this turns out to be the same 2 weeks that the Olympics are on.
So GF Platypus and I would like to get away to somewhere sunny and relaxing, but not beach-based, for a couple of weeks. What with one thing and another, this will be the longest time off I've had in many years. Previous years have been short breaks to Rome, Florence, Amalfi (GFP is very fond of Italy and I must say I rather like it too) and Loire valley.
Ideas include the Italian Lakes, Sardinia, Sicily. We don't fancy long haul but might consider it for a great destination. Would also consider one week one place and another week elsewhere.
Any ideas ?
