IF completely fecked their web servers doing a microsoft upgrade once. Fun times, took them 3 days to fix it. Customers lost confidence and all started to just phone the place for any transactions they wanted to make rather than go through the web. Pretty much stuffed the internet banking model they had.

I was going to download the RBS android app the other week until I noticed they wanted into my contacts list. No chance.

A few years ago I got an MS Access db error trying to log into Natwest..... I guess it's better than the current spreadsheet technology all these banks seem addicted to.

Important Information for our customers - message timed at 15:15

    **NEW**

We continue to experience technical issues which means that account balances have not been updated and yesterday's balance is still being displayed. We recognise this has caused significant inconvenience for our customers and has impacted many of our services.

We are doing everything we can to resolve this issue and will keep you informed of our progress.

We will be keeping over 1,000 NatWest branches in all major towns and cities open until 7pm tonight to assist customers who are unable to get to their branch during working hours and staff at our call centres are also ready to answer questions and help where they can.

But I transferred money over to my wifes account today and she's with Allaince & L (Santander). the money is in her account too, she just checked but the transfer is not showing on mine yet.

It'll all sort itself out in the end

They let me open a deposit account when I got my first job. I was one of a select group who managed to go over-drawn on one when they paid me out my wages then forgot to debit it from the balance.

Me being me went straight back in and withdrew it again, planning the 'bank error in my favour' defence. They countered with the 'We'll phone your Dad' attack strategy.

I mean WTF is that all about?

    Idiots.
That happened to me with Barclays once, and they froze my account. I never did understand the logic, unless they were hinting that my credit card being repaid was such an unusual occurance that they had no choice but to suspect fraud (I was a poor student at the time.....)
