Does it have to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab?

The new Asus Transformer is better (IMO) and probably cheaper
Asus Transformer Pad TF300 ? Reg Hardware

Hi,

I've told to get one for my dad as a birthday present, didnt really want to spend hundreds tbh anyway I know nothing about them, is there an old and new version like they have with Ipads ? Also any recommendation where to get one as cheap as possible ?
