    Nah. He'll toddle off to the golf club, chummy up to his mates, and grab an armful of non-executive directorships. Someone that senior has information of value. Or at least that's the party line.

    Oh, and if he does get fired, he'll get a Golden Parachute worth, oooh, maybe £2 million. I've seen a manager feck up a company due to not listening to anyone else and he did very nicely thankyou. It's tough at the top.

    Performance-related bonuses have swelled the annual pay packet of Tesco's global IT and operations director to just over £2.2m.

    The £2.2m is made up of a base salary of £628,000 and various short- and long-term cash and share bonus rewards that are part of the director-level remuneration scheme at Tesco.
