Speaking of taxing the rich, I came across this comment today:

The working class who this statement is targeted at don't. They are too busy trying to keep a roof over their heads. Romney paid about 14%, Obama about 17% and I paid 31%. I am just a working class stiff making less than six figures and I don't have any deductions or capital gains or any of the tax breaks wealthier people get.

I don't want the rich to pay 90% taxes. I just want them to pay what I pay.
I thought that was quite good, myself.

It is interesting that the Greeks, The French just do not get it. The people in these countries are stupid enough to think that the left are going to bring back any growth. You are right this country will be exactly the same and will vote in a labour government until the situation gets so bad that we have to bring in a Thatcher style despot.
And of course the irony is that people then believe that the Torys are cruel.

David Aarnovich was arguing in the times that more scientists should become MPs instead of lawyers and serial public servants. he said it was on the basis that scientists evaluated facts in order to find the truth and solved problems by using logic. Lawyers on the other hand assimilate information in order to make a case. Public sector workers believe money grows on trees and that people will set up profit making businesses because they want to help other people.
