    And the naive permies...

"£20/hour for a VB job - well that works out at £39,000/year - I'm loaded!!! Count me in Mr Shark..."

"IR35? Wots that? What do you mean I only work for 3 months... what about my sick pay and pension? I'll play hard ball!!! What do you mean the job went to a "better" candidate?"

started a topic City Agency - revenge

    City Agency - revenge

An agent in the City advertised a job at a city bank which I applied for - did well at first interview, wanted me back for 2nd.

Agent gave some spiel about the role becoming a junior role and called me to "manage my expectations" about the rate ... yes, that old ploy ...

Told agent that I'm not dealing with them any more ... they panic, call me 8 times yesterday and turn up at the office at 7pm ...

Client is aware of situation re job being oversold and undersold, etc. etc. and in fact also mentioned that they were being given the runaround ...

Let's see what happens ... no way am I letting agents try to scr*w over an experience 'tractor like myself (IMHO) ...

Message is, GIVE AS GOOD AS YOU GET ...

    WHO NEEDS AGENTS?

Working...
