    Technology could take the recruiters out of recruiting. But it didn't.

    Middlemen are not there because they are useful. Middlemen are there because they have shouldered their way in at the expense of others. Technology doesn't change the equation (i.e. 2 = 3).

    Or perhaps it does. For the worse.

    More and more of the useful jobs can just be done by machines. But machines doing useless jobs? Not enough of them are made. Therefore lots of people are needed to fill the useless jobs. Therefore there is a shortage of useless people, and high financial rewards for those who can prove their uselessness.

    QED. Time to bring down education standards.
