Indeed ... The west have a weird notion that we can invade a country yet be seen as diplomatic rather than aggressive, even when we are trying to save them and not snatch their oil.

Classic moment last night was David Starkey on Question Time. Having done a quite stirling job at insulting every member of the panel and a number of audience members a question was asked about Syria. A member of the audience piped up 'We need to put some pressure on Russia & China'
David Starkey foaming at the mouth shouted out 'What a stupid comment, what an idiot you are, how on earth do you think we are going to put pressure on Russia & China. '
Can we get him on CUK for an 'Ask David' Thread?

Britain's net contribution to the EU isn't even close to £52 billion, or even €52 billion. The gross contribution is more like £20 billion and we get around half of that back in one form or another.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostWhy not withhold our payments to the EU until they listen to us? It would save us about a billion a week.
By ignoring the EU we might be able to stop the Pru and other companies moving to Asia to.
We won't stop the Pru moving to Asia. They already do most of their business now and issue their annual report in Chinese as well. It's a matter of time before they move and delaying it will only cost them, and us, money.
If you want to encourage companies to stay here, or base their operations here, obvious steps like abolishing tax breaks for getting things made elsewhere would be a good start.Last edited by doodab; 2 March 2012, 09:51.

DC will be ignored regularly, he had better get used to it or become a pro bed wetter. If he learns how to throw a temper tantrum and stamps his feet long enough......... Could he send a sub? We have a candidate or two here.
