    The other half of the problem is people don't realise it's intended that way. There's not much profit in support if the product doesn't need extensive supporting.

    There also wouldn't be much work for K.I.S.S. IT contractors brought in to replace the crud that IBM and similar bloatware obsessed companies infest other companies with.

    If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

    Resoundingly - In my experience, half the trouble in many IT projects is caused by pompously over-engineered software, which is too complex to be usable except by the obsessively diligent designer (who has probably left).
