Hang on, surely Dave can't be blamed for wanting to change state pensions? Dave inherited a fiscal bugger up and the mess left from decades of prevarication on the pensions issue, and now has to try and sort things out, which will inevitably involve a rise in pensionable age (something I believe should happen as of tomorrow).
The employer realises that due to the thoroughly buggered financial markets, it won't be able to continue paying the same pensions. Accepted, it's then a bit disingenuous for the directors to award each other huge bonuses while cutting pensions.
But who is really the enemy of these employees? Who's caused this problem? I'd put their employer fairly low down a list which would certainly include Gordon Brown, a number of banks, Tony B Liar, Fitch, Moodys and S&P in higher positions, so what is the point of going on strike against the company that employs them?

Pot Noodles: one out, all out
Unilever workers to strike over pensions. Dave won't like this at all. How the hell can he use divide and rule tactics if private sector workers will fight to defend their pensions as well?
