Any road up - got two new fan belts in morning and started to fit-but noticed the alternator and water pump pulleys weren't aligned - on this model of 4 x 4 it means the bottom pulley which has a rubber inner core has separated allowing the pulley to move forward!

Spent rest of morning checking prices of the part (£60) plus if I was to take the pulley off I'd decided (after Milans post about broken timing chains) I'd also remove the cover & replace the timing chain and tensioner which adds another £90

Spent some of the early afternoon checking out the price of a replacement 4x4 new and nearly new (blimey they're dear ) decided to see how easy the crankshaft pulley bolt came off (meant to be torqued up to some silly amount of Newtons) - had to use a extension bar to the socket and wedge onto the chassis & then spin the starter motor quickly to break the bolt seating and remarkably it came off with no problems!
So remainder of the afternoon spent taking the timing chain cover off and getting it ready for the parts which should arrive in time for me to fit next weekend!

Now going to get phisshed ...
I drove for a year with my crankshaft pulley held on with locktite after the bolt sheared off. Something to do with a woodruff key.

I'm working nights on Saturday. The work's more specialist than my normal contracts, but the rate is good and I'm getting a nice little bonus from some pimpley geek with a camera.

Mainly doing some filming on the junction of the 372 and the 303. I think I've finally got a couple of my infected girls to do a cheap trick. They said something about a cup but were pretty sure the punter couldn't handle it.

    Weekend Plans

Got a cracker of a weekend coming up.

If all goes according to plan, I'll be spending Saturday evening round the back of Podimore Services "entertaining" the 2 wenches who serve in the Wild Bean Cafe

Hopefully I'll win a few Crackshot features on the fruities too

Working...
