I am currently in a permanent job and I have got my first contract. The agency says that the client wants me to start on the first week of Jan. I am waiting for my contracts to come through, hopefully they should be in this week.

My question was, is the common in the holiday season? Offering a contract but moving the start date by almost a month.

It actually suits me well, as I can hand in my notice (4 weeks) in the last week of Nov, ut wondering can things change after one signs the contract?

Any words of wisdom from the Seniors? Many thanks.
