Not quite the same without Barker.

Still, almost as good as the classic four candles/fork handles sketch:

can't believe that an org the size of RIM with that many users would have a single point of failure and no resilience network

    just another possibility

Thanks.. that explains an awful lot of the problems I've been seeing with yahoo mail recently & why their touted new & improved email client is a pile of poo

Apparently, it was due to a failed upgrade on a core switch wasnt it?

As someone who works in the comms industry and has spent years and years dealing with large networks like this, I cant understand how anyone would ever attempt an upgrade without even knowing there was a way out if it all went tits up!!!! Always assume the worse. Amateur mistake indeed.

Apparently, the backup switch fell over as well. Reading between the lines - wasnt working in the first place/no-one ever tested it. Also, still dont understand why their network hadnt got resilience/fault tolerance to route traffic past a failed switch AS WELL.....

It's the start of the cyber war. Instigated by Apple after Jobs failed to stop the countdown. It's called project Eden.

Evidence: Perfectly timed to coincide with the latest iPhone.
