Indeed. Anyone with even a rudamentary knowledge of sport would appreciate this.

England will get knocked out at the quarter final stage though. Rooney's dad told me.

France were beaten by Tonga then went on to demolish England. Different sport, same relevance.

There speaks someone who doesn't know much about football. Other than ensuring qualification as comfortable group winners, in case you hadn't noticed, this result will mean nothing next week, let alone next spring.

England's past record makes QF elimination a safe bet anyway.
